FEBRUARY 2019 – CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
21/02/2019
2019 is set to be a big year for Canopy with the delivery of our first stages, our new entrance and our first wetlands. Brown Civil has geared up for the big year and you’ll notice a hype of activity along Cranbourne-Frankston Road as our crews work hard bringing the new Canopy community to life. STAGE 1 The Stage 1 sewers have been installed and our hard-working construction team has commenced installing the stormwater drains and shaping the roads. The next month will see completion of the stormwater drainage and the formation of bases for the first roads. The Cranbourne-Frankston Road intersection, which will provide access to our new community has been endorsed by VicRoads and will start construction this month. STAGE 2 The earthworks within Stage 2 are now complete and our crews have commenced installing sewers. The installation of the sewers will be followed by the construction of stormwater drainage to begin in the second half of this month. STAGE 3 Earthworks are underway within Stage 3, with the installation of sewers to commence within the next month. STAGE 5 The engineering team is working through the detailed design for Stage 5, with early construction works to commence within the next month. Stage 5 includes the Woodland Tree Reserve, an exquisite place created to nurture and cherish the signature canopy trees of the area. The reserve which will provide 6,500m2 of open space will be a quiet place, with shared paths, picnic tables and natural planting. CANOPY ENTRY WETLANDS Brown Civil is undertaking bulk earthworks and installing drainage within the entry wetlands. The construction of these wetlands will take the remainder of the year to complete but the finished result will be a fully functioning wetland, designed to provide important habitat for native species, manage and treat stormwater and provide recreational opportunities for future residents, including shared paths, seating and an entry feature.
